The Human Resources
Department is responsible for assisting administration in
the areas of hiring, retention, termination, personnel
records, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, and long
term staffing strategies. Responsibilities include
development and administration of personnel rules and
regulations, pay and job classification structure, and
programs for employee training, safety, health, and morale.
The mission for the human resource office is to gauge and fill the
labor needs for the city, help to attract and retain the
most qualified employees, and fulfill the employee
financial, benefits related, and psychological needs. To
maintain a dual focus considering the needs of both
employees and management.
